During a conversation with Anna Knight, Bernadette Taylor explained that she turns 21 this week, although she isn't planning on marking the occasion, due to money troubles for the Taylor family.
But it wasn't her admission that she isn't celebrating the special occasion that caught the attention of viewers. Instead, it was the news that she is turning 21, as fans all thought that she was older than that.They soon took to Twitter to share their shock and confusion at the revelation.
This viewer tweeted to say: "How the F**K is Bernie only 21? #Eastenders." While this fan said: "Bernie is only turning 21 (thought she was a bit older, to be honest) #EastEnders." Someone else added: "Bernie is only gonna be 21 this week?!" Before adding a shocked face emoji.
Another asked: "#EastEnders is Bernie really 20!" As the scene with Anna continued, she told Bernie to come to the Queen Vic on the big day, and she will get her dad George to open a bottle of fizz.The gesture clearly touched Bernie, who is now working in the cafe to earn extra cash for her family.
