EastEnders confirms Cindy Beale return date and details as she comes back to Walford

Cindy Beale will return to Albert Square very soon, with husband Ian Beale in tow.It was announced earlier this year that actress Michelle Collins would reprise her role as Cindy in the BBC soap 25 years after the character was killed off-screen in 1998.

Cindy returned during an extended episode in June where it was confirmed Cindy was alive, living in witness protection as Rose Knight and was George Knight's missing wife.Cindy is set for a full return to Albert Square on August 28, where she will come face-to-face with George and their children Gina and Anna Knight.

Ian will be hot on her heels, as he returns to the Square on August 29.An episode synopsis for that day teases: "After 25 years away, Cindy arrives back in the square, the Knights excitedly prepare for Anna’s surprise 21st birthday in the Vic, and there are fireworks as Kathy comes face to face with a ghost from her past."The characters will appear in episodes the week prior to their arrival in Walford showing them still living in France.Monday, August 28, sees the Knight family come together to celebrate Anna's 21st birthday, unaware that their lives will turn upside down with Cindy's arrival.George is set to struggle with Cindy's arrival as her unexpected return has a major impact on their daughter Gina, who goes into self-destruct mode.Next week, actor Thomas Law returns to the soap as Peter Beale as he leaves France and heads back to his hometown.Anna recently went behind her family's back and contacted a private investigator to track down her mother, and next week spoilers reveal she finally makes contact.
