East Kilbride community group to host fundraising family fun day tomorrow

Friends of Dunedin Park is hosting a family fun day to help raise funds for the community group.There is lots in store for the little ones, and even the adults, with a bear hunt, fire engine, climbing wall, inflatables and bouncy castle.And popular games will include soak the grown-up, beat the keeper and tower of strength.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Now, in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council (SLC), the community group have transformed the rundown recreation area, giving the green space a much-needed makeover.It is hoped the fundraising event will help raise the £6000 needed to upgrade the decaying 50-year-old play park and install play equipment for kids with disabilities along with an outdoor gym.Other plans include more seating for elderly residents in the nearby care home to enjoy the park and to improve the paths.On their JustGiving page the Friends wrote: “Dunedin Park in East Kilbride is over 50 years old and has received little funding or attention from local authorities over the years.“If we can raise funds the local authority will match
