Organisers of Perthshire’s annual canine showcase ‘Scrufts’ are delighted at the weekend’s capers. The popular Perthshire Abandoned Dogs Society (PADS) event in Dunning featured more than a 150 dogs of all shapes and sizes, pedigrees, cross breeds and mixed breeds.The Best In Show title was taken by Perth sisters Eva and Lilley Croll with their adorable golden retriever Rollo.Charity PADS, based at kennels in Forteviot, was formed in the 1990s and ‘Scrufts’ has been staged for the last 20 years.PADS chairperson Alison Kennedy said this week: “It’s a big showcase for the charity - and it was such a great success.“It’s difficult to say exactly how many dogs were there, but I’d guess there were in the region of 150-plus.“The big problem in the past with the show has been bad weather.“The last two years we have had hot days.“This year, although it was dull the rain stayed off.“We’re really thrilled to bits and we’re looking forward to next year’s show.“Scrufts is a must for dog lovers from Perthshire and beyond.”
