A bereaved son who had to cancel a holiday parking reservation due to his mother's sudden death claimed he was initially denied a refund as he hadn't provided sufficient notice.

Craig Griffiths' mother, Ann Symonds, died at the age of 87, just a day before he was scheduled to depart from Birmingham Airport on July 12 for a two-week holiday in Egypt with his son, Connor.

Mr Griffiths, aged 53, stated that cancelling his holiday, booked through package operator Tui, wasn't an issue. However, he said that the company he paid £124 to for car parking during his holiday initially declined to assist him, citing insufficient notice of three days. After being contacted by Birmingham Live, Birmingham Airport Parking of Mackadown Lane, Tile Cross, said it would honour his booking for a future date at no extra charge.
