A guest on Antiques Roadshow was left speechless when he found out that a sign that had been stored in his garage for two decades was worth a staggering five-figure sum.The man was over the moon and even gave the dusty sign, which he had originally picked up for just £10 at a junk shop, a celebratory kiss after expert Lisa Lloyd revealed its worth.The revelation happened during filming at Walmer Castle, where Lloyd encountered a pensioner with an enamel BP sign depicting a car driving off.

She couldn't help but admire the piece, exclaiming: "Well what a fantastic image. What have we got here? It really epitomises everything of the age of speed." She went on to explain: "This sign is actually known as 'The Winner' sign and if you are a collector or an automobilia in enamel signs, then this is the creme de la creme of signs.This is the one that you want.Tell me, how did you come to have this?".

The owner recounted his lucky find, saying he'd been hunting for militaria but ended up captivated by the sign on his way out of the shop, stating: "I went to a junk shop to buy some militaria as I was interested in that...

I couldn't buy nothing I wanted and as I turned around and walked out, I noticed this on the wall and I just said 'that's for me' and that's what I did," reported the Mirror. "I bought it on the spot and I've loved it ever since....
