David Beckham is entering another New Year without an honour after it was revealed who the King will be recognising this year.

Following his Coronation earlier this year, King Charles' second-ever New Year's Honours list has been confirmed. The newly-crowned monarch, who automatically became King following the sad death of his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II last year, has handed out more than 1,200 honours this year, including MBEs, OBEs, and CBEs to people from all different areas - from local communities and fundraising champions to stars of the stage and screen.

But sadly, Becks isn't one of them. The 48-year-old who earned 115 caps for his country, 59 of those as captain, was awarded an OBE during his playing career in 2003.
