Ana De-Armas
Ana Celia de Armas Caso (born 30 April 1988) is a Cuban actress. She began her career as a teenager in her native Cuba and most notably had a leading role in the romantic drama Una rosa de Francia (2006). At the age of 18, she moved to Madrid, Spain and starred in the popular teen drama El Internado for six seasons from 2007 to 2010. After moving to Los Angeles, de Armas had English-speaking roles in the horror film Knock Knock (2015) and the crime drama War Dogs (2016). She had a supporting role in the sports biopic Hands of Stone (2016).

Daisy Ridley to Receive Deauville Festival’s Hollywood Rising Star Award

Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent Daisy Ridley will receive the Hollywood Rising Star Award at the Deauville Film Festival which will celebrate this year its 50th anniversary.

Ridley, who recently revealed in Women’s Health that she was diagnosed with Graves’ disease in September of 2023, is expected to attend the ceremony in Deauville.

She will follow the footsteps of Emilia Clarke (2023), Ana de Armas (2022), Paul Dano (2012) and Robert Pattinson (2015), as well as Ryan Gosling and Jessica Chastain who received the first Hollywood Rising-Star Award in 2011.

Ridley is best known for her role as the combattive Rey in the “Star Wars” trilogy, in which she starred opposite Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac and Jon Boyega.
