Dad carjacked at Sainsbury's was trapped under vehicle and for dragged 100m

A dad became wedged underneath his car and dragged around 100 metres onto a busy road after thieves stole his vehicle from a petrol station.

Kevin Watts became trapped 'underneath the back wheel' of his Vauxhall Insignia after being knocked down by carjackers on Friday, November 10.The 42-year-old remains in hospital after undergoing skin grafts and surgery on his broken leg but says he feels lucky to be alive.

The stolen vehicle was recovered a short time later but police have not made any arrests so far, BirminghamLive reports.Kevin was putting air into his passenger-side tyre at the Sainsbury’s garage when he heard the doors lock and the engine start.

He explained: "It's a push-button to start the engine. I shot up and saw a guy sitting in the driving seat and then all hell broke loose."The Jaguar Land Rover maintenance technician was knocked down by the carjacker before getting stuck beneath the back wheel and dragged along the busy Chester Road.
