Greg Taylor has had his Tartan Army mates on the phone trying to score briefs for next summer’s Euros. But the only ticket the Celtic star is interested in is the one for the Scotland squad plane heading Germany. The full back is a permanent fixture in Steve Clarke’s national group and was part of the side who competed at the last covid-hit Euros on home soil.
Taylor stepped in during the last international gathering with Andy Robertson and Kieran Tierney out injured and he’s determined to be on board for the big one next June after Scotland landed a glamour draw against the host nation, Hungary and Switzerland. The defender is one of Clarke’s big favourites but he’s taking nothing for granted and he knows he needs to keep doing the business for the Hoops to make sure his pals are not in Germany without him.
Taylor said: “A few have tried to tap me up for tickets already but I’m under a strict warning that I need to try and focus on my club and get in the squad before I sort any tickets!“It’s really an exciting time for the nation to be a part of the Euros.
I managed to be in the squad for the last one and I’d love to be in Germany for the next one. It’s an unbelievable draw. It will be in front of 80,000 in the Allianz.
