Countryfile star Anita Rani has revealed that she has created a 'Parisienne dream house' in her abode as she focuses on herself after splitting from her partner of 14 years. The BBC host, aged 46, announced in September that she has parted ways with her husband Bhupi Rehal, who she wedded in 2009 after one year together.

Now, Anita has moved into a flat that she has owned for two decades, but didn't previously reside in. And having stepped into single life, the star has admitted she couldn't be happier - and is loving life in her new home.Talking with Good Housekeeping, she detailed turning the flat into a "little sanctuary". "I bought a flat about 20 years ago, which I kept for all these years, and I've moved back into it," she said. "When I first became single, a friend suggested, 'You could make your little apartment like a Parisienne dream house' and that's exactly what I've done." I have lovely cream drapes and white floorboards.

My bedroom is dusky pink and I've turned my spare room into a dressing room. Just talking about it makes me happy! It's my little sanctuary and it feels really important to have that." Adding that she adores living a single life at the moment, Anita continued: "I feel like I've stepped into a place that I never, ever expected myself to be in.

I'm in uncharted territory. I'm a single, Asian woman with no children, and do you know what? I love it! I've sort of got a blank slate in front of me, and that feels really good." The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant also said that she admires "women who have an inner strength and power" and has taken inspiration from an 82 year old woman, who left her husband and has a powerful presence.
