A pair of loved-up teens who took off for a dream first trip together have become trapped in their hotel due to Malta's coronavirus quarantine.

The country's prime minister Robert Abela has launched a 14-day quarantine for anyone travelling in from the UK, with fines of €1,000 being dished out to anyone caught outside by police .

He announced the measures just hours before Chloe Hoyes, 17, and Sam Dawson, 18, arrived at their hotel in the popular tourist destination of Sliema on Friday for a TWO-DAY trip.

Originally, the couple had only planned to spend two nights in Malta but the couple have been ordered not to leave their room, reports the Manchester Evening News .
