Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has opened up about former co-star Ellie Leach's recent Strictly Come Dancing win. Lucy was speaking on the latest episode of ITV chat show Lorraine ahead of her return to the cobbles in the New Year.

The actress will reprise the role of Bethany Platt, three years after she quit the role. It was rumoured the actress was reprising her role in the ITV soap over the summer.

On-screen mum Tina O'Brien, who plays Sarah Barlow, then inadvertently leaked the news herself before Lucy didn't shy away from the fact she was back hanging out with her former co-stars at the Inside Soap Awards in September Blackpool-born Lucy has since been seen back on the set of the long-running soap in a video shared by Corrie confirming her imminent comeback with spoilers now featuring her as returning just as a new year begins on the cobbles, surprising her mum Sarah Barlow. Talking about Sonny, Lucy said: "He’s just gorgeous. He’s nearly one now, I can’t believe it. It’s so nice, we have a lovely set up, me, Ryan and Sonny.
