Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank admits to feeling 'strange' as he prepares for loss in 'hardest story' he's ever had

Coronation Street star Daniel Brocklebank has said it's going to be 'strange' to work without Peter Ash as he prepares to bow out of the soap as Paul Foreman.

As viewers of the ITV soap know, Paul's health has been deteriorating since his Motor Neurone Diagnosis last year. The former builder was told of the life-shortening disease, in which messages from the motor neurones gradually stop reaching the muscles, in April 2023.

Tragically, there is currently no cure meaning Paul has declined in front of his family's eyes as the months have gone on with an emotional exit for the character, and actor who plays him, looming. First, Billy calls the family together for a meeting at No.5 where Paul plays them a pre-recorded message telling him that he’s dying, he can’t bear anymore fighting and right now he needs his mum, Bernie Winter, more than ever.
