Coronation Street's Ellie Leach given special Strictly Come Dancing tip from Kym Marsh before 2023 show launch

Ellie Leach has detailed a conversation she had with another former Coronation Street star in the run-up to the new series of Strictly Come Dancing following her decision to sign up for the BBC One ballroom contest.

The Bury-born actor, 22, is among the 15 celebrities taking part in the 2023 run of the series and fans will get to see which professional dancers they have been paired with during the launch show this Saturday (September 16) before the competition really begins the following week (Saturday, September 23) with the first live edition.

And Ellie, who played Faye Windass in the ITV soap from 2011 until earlier this year, said he had been given some special insight from Kym Marsh, who appeared in Corrie as Michelle Connor from 2006 to 2019 and now has a role in Waterloo Road.

Kym took part in Strictly in 2022 and was the 10th celebrity to be eliminated from the competition. "Kym Marsh, who did Strictly last year, was just like you're going have the best time," said Ellie. "Dancing wise she didn't give me any advice but she was like, you will have the absolute best time of your life like it's the most amazing experience."
