Police uncovered a huge cannabis farm with more than 300 plants following dawn raids in Stockport today (Friday). Officers made the find after executing a warrant at a property on Avenue Street in Portwood, Stockport, following 'concerns from the local community and gathered intelligence', according to GMP.

The discovery was made during an operation by GMP's Stockport central neighbourhood team whose officers executed a warrant issued by the court under the Misuse of Drugs act.

Pictures from the scene revealed a sophisticated operation, with specialist lighting to encourage growth. After the raid Inspector John Picton said: "Greater Manchester Police won't tolerate the cultivation of cannabis or supply of drugs and will always take decisive action.
