Comedian Andy Cameron has praised the NHS staff who cared for him after he had to go A&E with chest pains at 3am last week.
The TV and radio broadcaster said he had to go to A&E after suffering a tightening in his chest in the early hours of Tuesday morning.The 82-year-old, from Rutherglen, near Glasgow, had turned up at University Hospital Hairmyres in East Kilbride with chest pain linked to indigestion but said it was later discovered to be a gallbladder issue.He said after five hours he was admitted to a ward and then monitored over the next three days.
The funny man has now praised the care he received from NHS staff who he says despite being under pressure were “magnificent”.Thanking the medics who cared for him on release from hospital on Friday he tweeted: “Just spent 3 nights in Hairmyres Hospital with a Gallbladder issue.“The NHS is under pressure.
THEY ARE MAGNIFICENT!”Speaking to the Sunday Mail last night, he said: “The staff and NHS are under pressure there is no doubt about that.
