Police have swooped on a street in a quiet Aberdeenshire village amid reports of a man seen with a 'possible weapon'.Authorities were initially called to Elphinstone Road in Port Elphinstone, Inverurie, after receiving reports of a man seen in possession of a possible weapon at around 2.55pm.Officers, including specialist officers, are now in attendance at a property in Crichie Circle carrying out enquiries in relation to the incident.In a picture shared with the Record, a police van can been seen parked on Elphinstone Road earlier this afternoon with a cordon also in place.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers, including specialist officers, are currently in attendance at an address in Port Elphinstone, Inverurie, following reports of a man seen in possession of a possible weapon in the Elphinstone Road area.“Police were called to the scene at around 2.55pm on Wednesday, 25 January, 2023 and remain in attendance.”Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - sign up to our daily newsletter here .
