In documents obtained by TMZ, the Orange County Medical Examiner in Florida ruled McFarr’s death as the result of an irregular heartbeat due to an issue with his heart valves.The medical examiner determined multiple contributing factors in McFarr’s accidental death, including acute alcohol poisoning and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease — a lung disease that causes obstructed airflow from the lungs, per the Mayo Clinic.McFarr’s autopsy also showed a history of binge drinking.
During the examination, the ME noted his blood alcohol concentration was 0.29%, which is almost four times the legal limit — 0.08 — for driving in most states.The stuntman died at his house outside Orlando, Florida, with his mother, Donna, confirming the news to TMZ at the time.Donna told the outlet that her son was “active and healthy” and called his death “unexpected” and “shocking.”After hearing the news of his passing, Pratt took to social media to pay tribute. “Devastated to hear about the loss of my friend and former stunt double,” he wrote on his Instagram Story. “We did several movies together.
We golfed, drank whiskey, smoked cigars, and spent endless hours on set. I’ll never forget his toughness.“I remember he took a nasty shot to the head (in the title sequence of Guardians 2) and got several staples in his head – he came right back to work ready to go again,” Pratt, 45, continued. “He was an absolute stud.
