Charades Inks Deal With U.S. Buyer Altered Innocence For Cannes Queer Musical ‘Queens Of Drama’

EXCLUSIVE: Altered Innocence has picked up all North American rights to Alexis Langlois’ debut feature film Queens of Drama which had its World Premiere in Cannes Critics Week and will have its North American premiere at Fantastic Fest.

Told through the eyes of an obsessive pop culture stan, the film charts the rise and fall over two decades of star-crossed lesbian pop singers Mimi Madamour and Billie Kohler.

Starring are Louiza Aura, Gio Ventura, Asia Argento and Alma Jodorowsky. The plan is for the film to play at festivals through the fall and winter and then to be released theatrically in 2025.The deal was negotiated between Frank Jaffe from Altered Innocence and Hélène Espeisse from Charades.

Producers are Les Films du Poisson, Wrong Men, & Faliro House.Jaffe commented: “Having already distributed two of their short films, Alexis Langlois was already one of my favorite young directors working in France.
