East Kilbride teenager Daniel Kelly made his Celtic debut this evening in their thumping Scottish Cup fourth round win over Buckie Thistle. The 18-year-old midfielder - who is the godson of Hoops hero Scott McDonald - made his first senior appearance for the club when he came on as a 72nd minute substitute in Celtic's 5-0 win over the Highland League side.Kelly was part of a double switch made by boss Brendan Rodgers, which saw him introduced at the same time as fellow Lanarkshire ace Anthony Ralston. The pair replaced Alistair Johnston and Odin Holm just before Rocco Vatta rounded off the scoring in the match, with Kelly joining Vatta in the celebrations.Celtic were 3-0 up at the break after strikes from Paulo Bernado, Holm and Kyogo Furuhashi, while Luis Palma was also on target five minutes into the second half.Kelly, who joined the first-team for pre-season training in Portugal and Japan last summer, will be hoping this could be a breakthrough season for him after he signed a three-year professional contract in March 2022.Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onX via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
