Burglars smash through homeowner's kitchen window before stealing Audi Q7

An Audi was stolen after burglars smashed their way into a house in Cheshire. Police were called to the address on Gravel Lane in Wilmslow shortly before 7am this morning (Friday).

Officers attended and discovered that between 10:3pm last night (Thursday) and 6:30am this morning, offenders had forced entry to the property via a rear kitchen window.

Two sets of keys were taken, with a black Audi Q7 which was parked on the drive being driven away. The second set was a spare key to another vehicle which was not at the address at the time, Cheshire Police said. Police Constable Daniel Barnett, of Macclesfield Local Policing Unit, said: “We’re currently following a number of lines of enquiry and as part of our investigation we are asking for anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed anything suspicious to get in touch. “We would also like to ask anyone who lives in the area to review any CCTV, ring doorbell of dashcam footage of the vehicle itself that may have captured the incident or the vehicle itself. “Anyone with any information or video footage should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or enquire via our website, quoting IML-1656097.” Alternatively, information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
