And the Irishman faced a barrage of questions about the club’s recruitment strategy which is headed up by Mark Lawwell – son of chairman Peter Lawwell.
At one point chief executive Michael Nicholson revealed that Lawwell Jnr had been personally handpicked for the role by former boss Ange Postecoglou.And Rodgers, who has thrown a number of young, untested news boys into a bruising Champions League campaign, insisted he will be personally responsible for any signings made for as long as he remains the Parkhead club’s manager.
Speaking after AGM he said: “Listen, it’s something that’s natural. People will always wonder, especially when we’re a club that doesn’t have a director of football or sporting director.“But it’s really no different here to most clubs.
