'I have to impose a life sentence' - What judge told Brianna Ghey killers after they were found guilty of brutal murder

A judge has told the teenagers who killed Brianna Ghey that they will face a life sentence once they are jailed for her murder.

Two teenagers - who cannot be named for legal reasons - were found guilty of the 'brutal and ferocious' killing today, after a trial at Manchester Crown Court.

Brianna, 16, a transgender girl, described as ‘beautiful, witty and hilarious’ by her family, was stabbed 28 times in broad daylight in a park near Warrington.

She had been lured to the park by a teenage girl who she believed was her friend. But Brianna had no idea that Girl X had secretly been plotting to kill her, with her friend Boy Y.
