A seven-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after falling 30ft onto a stone path at a popular beauty spot near Bolton. Emergency service workers and mountain rescuers were scrambled to the scene at the Rivington Terraced Gardens, near Rivington Pike, yesterday afternoon (Monday).
The youngster 'tumbled 30 feet down steep ground' below a bridge, before landing on a stone path. After being rescued, he was rushed to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital from the scene in an ambulance.

A post on the Bolton Mountain Rescue Team Facebook page: "At 14:04 this afternoon the team was contacted by North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust who were requesting our attendance to help extricate a casualty at Rivington Terraced Gardens. "An NWAS crew and North West Air Ambulance Charity aircraft were already in attendance.
