Greater Manchester Police have confirmed they have recovered a body from the water at Salford Quays. People living close to the scene in Salford Quays reported hearing sirens and a helicopter flying overhead in the early hours of this morning.
Emergency services arrived on the scene following "concerns for a man in the water" at around 4.15am today (Sunday). Sadly, GMP confirmed this afternoon that a body of man had been recovered from the water. A spokesperson for GMP said: "At around 4.15am this morning, officers received a report of a man in the water at Salford Quays. "Emergency services quickly attended but sadly, the body of a man was later recovered from the water. "His family are currently being supported by specialist officers.
