MacIntyre’s birdie at the showcase par-three was the highlight of his 65 and brought an eruption. He said: “It was brilliant.
I’m trying to stay even keel. It’s difficult at times. I hit a reasonably decent shot, the crowd is going wild and chanting me all the way up to the green.“When I holed the putt, it was almost a relief, but also a goosebump moment when the crowd erupted.
I said to my caddie Mike walking up the seventh: That’s why I play golf. That’s why I put in the hard work and I try to be myself as much as I can when I’m out there.
