Organisers of the Bluedot music and science festival have told Sunday day ticket holders not to travel to the event following heavy rain.
The festival, held annually at Jodrell Bank observatory in Cheshire, started on Thursday (July 20). Over the past few days bosses say they have dealt with ‘unprecedented’ precipitation.
Now, they say, some areas of the site are ‘impassable’, prompting the cancellation of Sunday day ticket holders. Today’s action, featuring sets from Grace Jones and Young Fathers, will still go ahead, however. “It is with a heavy heart that we inform you we are unable to accommodate Sunday day ticket holders to Bluedot festival today Sunday, July 23.
If you are a Sunday day ticket holder, please do not travel to Bluedot today,” the festival said in a statement this morning. “Weekend ticket holders currently at Jodrell Bank are unaffected; it has been determined that while muddy, the arena ground condition allows us to go ahead with our plans for today’s program, but only for people already here at the festival.
