Ashley Cain and Safiyya Vorajee reunite for first time since 'brutal' split as she says bond will 'last for eternity'
ok.co.ukAshley Cain and his ex Safiyya Vorajee have emotionally reunited for the first time since their split and the revelation that Ashley has welcomed a new child.The pair, who tragically lost their eight-month-old daughter Azaylia to acute myeloid leukaemia in April 2021, came together at the premiere of the heartfelt documentary, Kids Like Us.The former couple previously set up the Azaylia Foundation in honour of their daughter after a massive fundraising effort to save her life - they parted ways a year following Azaylia's passing.The event was made even more poignant with the attendance of music legend and cancer survivor Nile Rodgers, who introduced the film and acknowledged the brave children featured in it.
Ashley, known for his stint on Ex On The Beach and as a footballer, announced in January that he had welcomed a son named Aliyas Diamond with a close friend, vowing to protect him "with all of my heart, for the rest of my life".
While Safiyya admitted at the time that she thought a reconciliation might be on the cards until Ashley became a dad again. Despite the complexities of their past, the two showed unity in supporting the powerful documentary and its celebration of remarkable children battling serious illnesses at the Cineworld in Leicester Square premiere.
Speaking with The Sun, Safiyya said: "Myself and Ashley will always be united." "For me and Ashley we've always got our purpose and that is Azaylia, we'll never lose sight of that.
