Singer Ashanti and rapper Nelly have announced the birth of their first child together - and he's already a month old.The new mum, 43, took to Instagram on Wednesday, August 21, to share the happy news, writing: "Funny how life’s plans aren’t…always on time..

lol. I’ve been waiting to be a mom for a long time now but nothing could prepare me for EVERYTHING motherhood brings!" Accompanying the caption, after keeping the arrival of their baby boy under wraps for over a month, Ashanti confidently displayed her postpartum body in a snug cream-coloured set as she reflected on the remarkable journey of motherhood.

A representative for the couple also told PEOPLE: "Ashanti and Nelly welcomed their baby boy, Kareem Kenkaide Hayes, on July 18, 2024.The proud and happy parents are so in love with KK!" Ashanti's Instagram post announcing her newborn has been flooded with congratulatory messages from ecstatic fans, reports The Mirror.
