YouTube star Ninja has been diagnosed with cancer. The gaming professional, who has more than 23 million subscribers, is now encouraging others to check their skin for signs.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, he made the discovery after attending a doctor's appointment set up by his wife Jess. The American, whose real name is Tyler Blevins, explained: "There was a mole on the bottom of my foot that they wanted to remove just to be careful.
It came back as melanoma, but they are optimistic that we caught it in the early stages." The 32-year-old continued: "I had another dark spot appear near it, so today they biopsied that and removed a larger area around the melanoma with the hopes that under the microscope they will see clear non-melanoma edges and we will know we got it.
I'm grateful to have hope in finding this early, but please take this as a PSA to get skin checkups." READ MORE: Full list of 43 Papa Johns stores to close - including one in Greater Manchester Melanoma is a type of skin cancer that starts in cells called melanocytes, which give our skin its color.
