South Korean midfielder Yang Hyun-jun has agreed to sign for Celtic as Gangwon have announced the deal. Yang has been a long-running target for the Parkhead club since Brendan Rodgers' return and his interest in the move has been no secret.

He and his representatives had piled on the pressure for Gangwon to let him go and despite their initial determination to hold onto him until the winter to aid their relegation battle, they finally folded during the week with reports suggesting a £2.1m bid had been accepted. And now the deal has been formally announced with Yang becoming the third summer signing after Odin Thiago Holm and Marco Tilio.

He will play his last game for Gangwon against Seoul on Saturday before linking up with his new teammates as an emotional social media post reads: "Yang Hyun-jun's transfer to Celtic has been confirmed.

There is a goodbye to Yang after today's game, everyone please stay with us until the end." Follow Record Sport on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for all of the up-to-the minute breaking news, video and audio on the SPFL, the Scotland national team and beyond.
