Woman and two children rushed to hospital after crash on Scots road

A woman and two children were taken to hospital after a car crash on a Scots motorway. The 37 year-old woman was travelling on the A1 near Haddington in East Lothian, with the two youngsters, aged eight and 11, at 5pm on Thursday when the one-vehicle incident occurred.

Officers say all three were rushed to hospital in an ambulance. Police Scotland closed the motorway for almost six hours and drivers were diverted.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5pm on Thursday, December 8, 2022, we were called to a report of a one vehicle crash on the A1 southbound between Gladsmuir and Oaktree, near Haddington.“A 37-year-old woman and two children, aged eight and 11, were taken to hospital by ambulance.“The road was reopened around 10.50pm."
