Lanarkshire sub-postmasters caught in the Post Office Horizon scandal balanced their books and walked away rather than face wrongful prosecution.
The revelation that the innocent sub-postmasters and mistresses had to pay their own money to make up “shortfalls” in accounting came from Motherwell and Wishaw MP Marion Fellows in a Commons debate on the Horizon scandal in the wake of the powerful TV drama, Mr Bates vs the Post Office.
