The movie is now in theaters and many fans may be wondering who Astrid’s (Jenna Ortega) father is. As we’ve previously learned, she is the daughter of Winona Ryder‘s Lydia Deetz, and the 46-yaer-old Chilean actor portrays her father Richard! Keep reading to find out more about him (spoiler alert)… Early on in the film, we learn that her father Richard died in a boating accident and he’s seen just through old family photos. SPOILER ALERT! When Astrid is tricked into entering the afterlife, she runs into her father, who is now working in the immigration unit.
He helps her escape the afterlife and go back to the real world. “I got to play a small part in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice coming out in September.
I can’t say more on the role,” he told THR. “But just to be a part of Tim Burton’s world and in his playground — and meet him and play with him, and see how the whole thing is done — was incredible.
