Walt Disney World Reaches Tentative Agreement With Union With Historic Wage Increases

The union which represents 45,000 theme park workers and Walt Disney World reached a tentative agreement that would raise the starting minimum wage from $15 to $18 an hour by the end of the year.

The Services Trades Council Union said the agreement would raise theme park worker pay between $5.50 and $8.60 by the end of the contract, with the first $3 in raises arriving this year.

With the support of the unions, we anticipate cast members will approve this new agreement.” The contract with the service workers includes costumed performers, bus drivers, culinary workers, lifeguards, theatrical workers, and hotel housekeepers, representing more than half of the 70,000-plus workforce at Disney World.
