Vicky Pattison gets emotional as she opens up about 'making a tiny human' and being an 'older mum'

As she prepares to walk down the aisle this year, former Geordie Shore star Vicky Pattison has opened up about her dreams of becoming a mum.The 36-year-old presenter, who has frozen her eggs, addressed her age in an emotional statement, saying she's focusing on "quality over quantity" when it comes to the time she'll have left to spend with the little one.

Reposting a quote to her Instagram page on Thursday, 28 March, Vicky, who is set to marry her fiancé Ercan Ramadan later this year, discussed not feeling ready to be a mum in her 20s when she was "selfish, irresponsible, inpatient" and coping with a difficult relationship with alcohol.Tackling the topic of being an older mum one day, she shared the post that read: "The harshest reality of having a child later in life is also the most obvious: the older you are when you have a child, the less time you have with them, and them with you", but said she didn't totally agree with the strong sentiment.

In the lengthy caption alongside the quote, Vicky explained why the words left her "upset" and defended her decision to wait before having her first baby. "My main issue with it is, we're still trying to make women feel bad about their choices, or in some cases the hand that life has dealt them that they've had absolutely no control over," she wrote. "And come on, it's 2024- are we really not more evolved?" She went on to share that she "wouldn't have been a good mam" in her 20s and is glad she didn't bow to pressure to start a family too soon. "I was struggling to work out who I was- how on earth could I be responsible for making a tiny human be a good person when I couldn't even work out how to do it myself?," she added.
