UK's best fish and chips search as Ayrshire takeaway makes final three
dailyrecord.co.ukAn Ayrshire chippy has made the final three of a prestigious fish and chips awards.The Fish Works in Largs is the only Scottish takeaway to make the shortlist of the Quality Accreditation category at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023.The National Federation of Fish Friers named the North Ayrshire chippy among takeaways from Ipswich and Colchester.The trio made the final following extensive judging from an anonymous panel of industry experts.The Quality Accreditation category celebrates businesses throughout the UK that give their customers the best quality fish and chips, and is sponsored by the Norwegian Seafood Council.The top three shortlisted are:But the Ayrshire chippy will have to wait more than a month to discover if they've taken the top prize.The awards ceremony, hosted by The National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF), will take place on February 28, 2023 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge.Comedian and presenter, Jason Manford, will present this year’s awards and although the guest list is industry-focused, tickets are also open to the general public and discounted accommodation is available with ticket sales.The Fish Works is regarded as one of Scotland's best chip shops and has won a host of awards and been listed among some of the UK's best takeaways over the years.
