Two people were rushed to hospital after an alleged stabbing in flood-hit Brechin onSaturday afternoon. Emergency services were called to the Wards Road area of the town, which was ravaged by extreme flooding during Storm Babet, around 4.35pm on Saturday.Two men, aged 24 and 27, were rushed to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment.

The extent of their injuries is not known.A 40-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with alleged serious assault and will appear at Forfar Sheriff Court on Monday.
