TRNSMT finale as Calvin Harris brings down curtain on epic festival in front of thousands of fans

Thousands of fans have brought the curtain down on TRNSMT in style with the help of Scots dance star Calvin Harris.And festival boss Geoff Ellis revealed the weekender is here to stay long term.Over three days, fans basked in the sunshine and mainly dry weather at Glasgow Green with temperatures soaring after a poor start to the Scottish summer.They enjoyed performances by over 80 acts including the Scots DJ’s late set which gave them something to remember the weekend by on the main stage as he arrived to deliver hits such as his This Is What You Came For, One Kiss and Feel So Close.Ellis, who staged TRNSMT for the first time in 2017, was delighted as a record 50,000 sell-out crowd attended each day from Friday through Sunday.The 59-year old revealed his team are already planning next year’s acts.Ellis told The Record: “We’ve had a great relationship with the people of Glasgow, the Glasgow businesses, local residents and the city council.“It feels like we’re here to stay.

2017 was our first year and we only had one year off during lockdown.“Glasgow Green is a great site for live music.“The work involved is the same each year because you are starting from scratch each year.“It’s not their first rodeo for the teams and crews working on site.“They are all on top of their game, first class companies who work across the UK and sometimes Europe as well.“Equipment changes and the layout changes.

It doesn’t get easier.
