A 'selfless and caring' mum-of-five's life began to spiral after an alleged attacker was found not guilty of assaulting her, an inquest has heard.

Toni Paine hit a 'turning point' following the incident and began to drink regularly, her sister Jodie said. The 44-year-old was found at home in February this year after a man called 999 before 'making off' from the scene, according to police.

Her family had become aware of a man known as 'crackhead Chris' who had become involved in her life before her death., Yorkshire Live reports.

Miss Paine died following a fatal dose of heroin, according to her post-mortem. Her sister Jodie stated that Miss Paine, from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, had a good work ethic and went into hairdressing after leaving high school.
