Dr Zoe Williams has been a fan favourite with viewers ever since she first sat on the This Morning sofa a few years ago. However, Zoe, 42, was first on screens way before that first stint when she was one of the Gladiators on the show in 2008 and she spoke to OK!

about those days and what spurred her to enter the show. Just recently BBC bosses announced that Gladiators would be returning with 11 episodes featuring a new generation of “superhumans”.

A few weeks before the announcement, Zoe took to Instagram to share a clip of herself back in her “superhuman” days on the Gladiators clad in a two piece and a fierce look on her face with the caption: “Yes it’s true, I was a Gladiator.” While Zoe is now a doctor and is dedicated to her role of helping people and spreading positive health messages, her stint as a Gladiator actually came about due to her medical career.

In particular, Zoe had just graduated with her degree in medicine from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne medical school in 2007 and had got stuck in working as a doctor.
