THIS Morning fans bombarded the show with criticism today after it showed viewers how to lose a stone in 21 days. Dr Michael Mosley appeared via a video link from his Buckinghamshire home explaining how to shed weight rapidly by eating 800 calories a day.

But many viewers were unimpressed, calling the advice "irresponsible and unhealthy". Others insisted the advice, which will be aired on Channel 4's Lose A Stone in 21 Days tonight, was "extremely dangerous".

Dr Michael insisted the diet would tip the body into fat-burning mode, saying: "You have a huge amount of energy stored in your body in the form of fat." One This Morning fan tweeted: "Can you lose a stone in 21 days ?
