A mum has blasted a gang of youths for launching fireworks at her and her six-month-old baby. Police were called to Rochdale town centre yesterday (Tuesday) after around 30 to 40 young people were spotted setting off fireworks. Amy Golden, from Kirkholt, took to social media to warn local residents to be ‘careful’ after she was ‘surrounded’ by over ‘200 young lads’ while walking through the town.
Describing the horrifying moment, she said to the Manchester Evening News: “The fireworks were going off around 4.30 pm and when walking through the centre we couldn’t get past the groups.
You could see the fireworks in their bags. Suddenly one of the boys shot a firework and it bounced off from my baby’s pram wheel and went underneath. “Luckily, my friend spun the pram away before the firework exploded.
I was in shock - I never expected them to do that. “My six-month-old daughter was screaming and crying. She was definitely shaken by it.
