Erik ten Hag told his Manchester United players that they weren't in the right positions without the ball when he called them over for an impromptu team talk midway through the first half against Sheffield United.
When Andre Onana went down for treatment in the 22nd minute with the game still goalless, Ten Hag called all 10 outfield players over and held a detailed and animated discussion with them.
United had started the game poorly at Bramall Lane, giving the ball away sloppily and struggling to win the battles in midfield, so Ten Hag took the injury break as a chance to reinforce a few messages and change things tactically. Dalot revealed the details of Ten Hag's unscheduled team talk after the game and felt that the changes helped work in what was a scrappy game at times, until United seized control in the final half hour. "It was a good opportunity for us to adapt a little bit because we were not in the right positions, especially without the ball, we had to sort it out quickly.
