The Office star Mackenzie Crook has urged the public for help in finding his sister-in-law, who has been missing for four days. The actor, 51, said the family are “really worried” for Laurel Aldridge, 62, after she left home on Tuesday and did not return. The actor explained that his sister-in-law’s behaviour seemed “very out of character” in an emotional interview.

Laurel is said to have been receiving chemotherapy for cancer but missed a session last Tuesday, leaving family worried that she’s “having some sort of crisis”.

Her family believe she may be “hiding” somewhere in the local area and are urging local people to help locate her. Mackenzie, who is also known for appearing in Pirates of the Caribbean, told ITV: "She left her house early Tuesday morning and she's not been seen since. "That's in the Walberton area where a lot of people are looking in the local woodlands along the roads and stuff like that. "I'd really like to appeal to people to go out into their back gardens and have a look in places where she might have taken rest." Mackenzie described his sister-in-law as wearing a bright blue fleece with a grey coat over the top, a brown woolly hat, a turtle scarf and black trousers.

He added: "She's been missing out for three nights - we're entering the fourth one now so, we're obviously really worried. "If I could appeal to everyone, even if they checked before, check again in likely places where she might have crept in to lay down for the night." Sussex Police previously confirmed that they were “concerned” about Laurel after she was last seen on Tuesday 14 February.
