With United staring down the barrel of a defeat at home to the Bees McTominay came off the bench, scored twice and turned the game on its head.
The Scotland midfielder has not had many opportunities since Ten Hag arrived at the club. However, his performances for Scotland caught the eye during the international break and the United boss has been pleased to see the 26-year-old replicate that form for his domestic club.
Speaking to MUTV prior to tonight's clash with Sheffield United, Ten Hag explained how McTominay's attitude was an example to his teammates. "But also in our last game, it gave us energy and in the game which we turned around, the togetherness with the fans, they backed us throughout the game. "We were losing but they were very supportive and it was a great atmosphere in the stadium and also the team kept believing in a better result.
