‘The Holdovers’ Hits Peacock Over The Holidays

29. By the time the movie hits the streaming service it will have been in theaters exclusively for 64 days. The pic has grossed to date $17.4M at the domestic box office.
The movie which reteams Payne with his Sideways star Paul Giamatti follows the latter as Massachusetts prep school teacher Paul Hunham whose left with a handful of misfit students over the Christmas break; the boys marooned by their parents.
Eventually Paul forms an unlikely bond with one of them — a damaged, brainy troublemaker (newcomer Dominic Sessa) — and with the school’s head cook, who has just lost a son in Vietnam (Da’Vine Joy Randolph).
