Meghan Markle is a self-professed foodie and has been speaking about her love of cooking long before she joined the royal family. While still an actress, the Duchess of Sussex ran a lifestyle blog called The Tig where she shared recipes and featured her favourite restaurants.
More recently, Meghan shared her recipe for a lemon citrus cake in a charity cookbook set to be released next month. When it comes to her daily routine, royal biography Finding Freedom included Meghan's 'morning ritual' of hot water and a slice of lemon which has been found to boost metabolism and help weight loss.Lemon water helps digestion, hydration, and weight loss, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
The US medical centre also says the drink gives a boost of antioxidants, vitamin C, potassium and kidney function.Drinking lemon water in the morning may boost metabolism according to Healthline: "Researchers suggest that good hydration enhances the function of mitochondria, a type of organelle found in cells that helps generate energy for the body.
This leads to an increase in metabolism, which may lead to subsequent weight loss."And if you don't like the taste of water, the NHS recommends adding a slice of lemon or lime to your glass.
