After the majority of late-night shows revealed that they were returning next week, The Daily Show has set its own plan. The Comedy Central series will return on Monday October 16 with guest hosts for the rest of 2023.

A new, permanent host is expected to take over in 2024. The Daily Show faces a unique set of challenges after the writers strike ended given that Trevor Noah left last year and was initially replaced by a rotating set of guest hosts. Comedy Central did not reveal who will be hosting the first week back but correspondent Dulcé Sloan was set to host the first week of May.

She was set to be followed by Michael Kosta, Charlamagne Tha God, a combined news team takeover, Michelle Wolf, Ronny Chieng, Lewis Black and Desus Nice so it’s a good guess that some of them will get a chance.
